What is the B-side festival?

B-side DownTown ArtJewellery Festival is a lively self-created festival for jewellery artists. It brings together a series of jewellery exhibitions and performances across the city of Amsterdam.

The aim of the festival is to highlight different ways of thinking about and presenting art jewellery. More specifically, the participating artists are invited to explore unusual venues and spaces which are not dedicated to exhibition purposes, such as workshops, ateliers, empty buildings, private living rooms, cafés. Each artist is personnally responsible for his/her own show in the wider framework of the Jewellery route coordinated by B-side in the city. B-side acts as a satellite to the main Sieraad Art Fair, which is held at the same dates in the Gashouder at the westergasterrein in Amsterdam.
November 2011 has marked the second edition of the festival. Three galleries and over 70 international jewellery designers have organized special events in various locations under the festival’s umbrella. B-side DownTownArtJewellery Festival is an exciting platform to celebrate Amsterdam’s special connection to jewellery.

This event is initiated and organized by MIN-Association, a group of three international jewellery designers: Maaike Ebbinge (NL), Iris Tsante (GR), Noémie Doge (CH).
